The Boys are Back in Town!!

It is getting to be Herring Season time. Activity around the marine is picking up and more and more eagles are returning. While walking down the dock it is not uncommon for an eagle to fly right at you dive into the water and grab a herring. Spectacular to watch.

Waking Up

The activity level here in the harbor is rising. The fishermen are returning along with the eagles. Yesterday Jim counted 14 eagles in a nearby tree. As I was walking down the dock I stopped to watch a male Stellar Sea Lion he looked at me then charged. Scary!! He apparently was looking for a hand out however I'm convinced he was looking for my hand!

So Where Are We?

So our plan today- it changes with our mood, is to head south, go down the outside of Baranof Island then continue down Prince of Wales Is of course stopping in as many anchorages as possible before heading back up the inside passage. We talk about spending another 3 weeks in Glacier Bay, a month in Tenakee Springs, visiting Skagway but already we realize there is not enough time. So we will go where the wind takes us and of course follow the fish.

The New Year

We are off to a great new year and making plans to set sail. Boat projects that had been put off are now topping the list!! As of right now we think we are heading south down the outside of Baranof Island then down the west side of Prince of Wales Island, of course stopping at as many anchorages as possible. Then possibly back up the inside. The best thing about sailing is we don't have to decide now, just simply follow the wind.
